Probably the most well-known artist working with glass in the United States, Dale Chihuly has created more than a dozen well-known series of works, among them Cylinders and Baskets in the 1970s; Seaforms, Macchia, Venetians, and Persians in the 1980s; Niijima Floats and Chandeliers in the 1990s; and Fiori in the 2000s. He also is celebrated for large architectural installations.
His work as been exhibited in the most important museums around the world including the Musée des Arts Décoratifs, Palais du Louvre, Paris, France; Tower of David Museum, Jerusalem, Israel; Victoria and Albert Museum, London, England; de Young Museum, San Francisco, CA.
His next major exhibition will be at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, MA, April 10-August 7, 2011.
