About the Artist: Boulanger was born in Bolivia in 1935 and studied both piano  and art in her native country before continuing her art education abroad at the Vienna School of Fine Arts. While she gave ultimately abandoned her career as a pianist to focus on the visual arts, she once said: "Everything I had learned about music was extremely useful to me in painting: harmony, composition, melodic line, counterpoint, embellishments and contrast.” Since her first exhibition in 1951, Boulanger’s work has been exhibited with increasing frequency worldwide, and she has been honored with numerous one-woman shows throughout the U.S., Europe and Japan. She has often been selected as the official poster artist for a broad array of events and causes, including The International Year of the Child, and a 1986 production of The Magic Flute by The Metropolitan Opera of NY.
