Item Description

Title:  Sun Catchers (4 different)

Medium:  Stained Glass

Size:  range from 6” W x 8” H to 9” W x 11” H

Additional Information: This is a collection of four beautiful stained glass sun catchers; they were inspired by the symmetry and beauty of snowflakes, as well as the symbolism of the cross.  These unusually large sun catchers can be displayed year-round—especially in front of a window, or they can be saved to cherish for holiday use.   Because this is a group of four, you can even use them for gifts—perhaps retaining your favorite piece as a gift for yourself.  All four are lovingly made using beveled glass; the cross also incorporates a crystal, and two of the snowflakes are highlighted with glass nuggets, either ruby red or sapphire blue.  The clear cross is 6” x 8”; the clear snowflake is 8” x 8”; the snowflake with blue accents is 9” x 9”, and the one with red accents is 9” x 11.”  All are ready to hang and enjoy.

About the Artist: Betsy Weinschel became entranced with stained glass when she went to an old stone church with stained glass windows as a small child with her grandparents.  She took her first stained glass course in 1970 and has been concentrating on it since 1990.  She has created intricate works as large as fireplace screens and windows. Weinschel resides in Norfolk, Virginia.
