Item Description
This auction is for one bottle each of 2005 Souverain Vineyards Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon and 2004 Silverado Vineyards Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon. The Souverain was the featured red wine at the 2010 Montevideo Auction Gala. If you liked it then, imagine how much better it is after another year of aging. Robert Parker said of this cab: "From barrel, the 2005 Cabernet Sauvignon Alexander Valley displays more fruit, density, and purity. It should drink well for a decade or more." The Silverado is a "wine club" bottle so we don't know the value. This is the description of the 2004 cab Sterling. "Predominantly cabernet, with splashes of merlot, petite verdot and cabernet franc, the 2004 Silverado Cabernet Sauvignon comes from some of Napa's best vineyards, including Stags Leap District Vineyard, Mt. George Vineyard and Haystack Vineyard. The wine is full of ripe, jammy fruit and aromas of cola and dried herbs. On the palate it is medium to full-bodied with cherry, raspberry and mineral flavors balanced by lively acidity and well-integrated tannins for a lingering finish."
