Item Description

A painting of a Virgin Mary statue perched above a granite ledge
in The Fort, the heart of Gloucester's historic Sicilian fishing community, by Marci Ann Cohen, 2007.

The Fort, a close-knit neighborhood of courageous and hardworking people, is being eyed for commercial development.  The modest houses and apartment buildings on this working waterfront may be replaced by a gentrified tourist center and hotel.

If you've lived in, visited, or loved Gloucester, here is a chance to display artwork that goes beyond the typical scenes of sailboats and lighthouses.  Own a wonderful souvenir of the place as it really is.

Painting is acrylic and pencil on wooden 8" X 10" board with painted edges.  No additional framing is needed.
