Item Description
Celebrated jewelry master Tom Odell of Chatham, MA handcrafted this stunning sculptural brooch. He utilized special alloys and patination techniques which originated in Japan, and which he has studied and practiced for well over 30 years.
The rich, concave, 14-karat gold surface contrasts with the black shakudo lines and the light-gray domed shibuichi so that each material sets off the others. The piece’s composition and the contrast among surface types are truly striking - and unique! It’s roughly 3-1/8 by 2-5/8 inches and has Tom Odell’s maker’s mark on the back.
