Item Description
Ensuring that all of the National Zoo's animals are fed with nutritious, healthy and satisfying food is an important responsibility. Taking on that challenge is Mike Maslanka, head of the Department of Nutrition at the Smithsonian's National Zoo. Mike will personally lead you and one guest on a tour of the commissary where you will have the opportunity to see the recipe book for the animals' diets, visit with meal worms, and walk in the food storage freezers to gain an understanding of what's involved in keeping our animals full! In addition, join Mike in the nutrition lab to learn about the leading nutrition research being undertaken at the Zoo.
Item Special Note
Tour must be completed by May 31, 2012.
