Item Description
Immerse yourself in a peaceful nature and garden sanctuary. This offering is a one night and one day yurt retreat in the mountains of Lincoln, Vermont at Metta Earth Institute.
Metta Earth has a 20' or a 16' yurt nestled in a forest glade with a nearby view of the mountains and is a beautiful, light filled, circular space. You can choose which yurt is most suitable for your retreat. Either one can be set up for a variety of guest needs, and can be outfitted with a cotton and wool futon single or double mattress, handmade pillows filled with sheep fleece, and organic sheets and towels. These spaces also can be provided with meditation cushions, 2 wicker chairs, a Coleman stove, and beeswax candles. At night the yurt paths are lit with solar lamps, but you might like to bring a flashlight as well.
These yurts are winterized with insulation and a Jotul wood stove. Access to an outdoor composting toilet outhouse is included, as well as bathrooms with hot showers, a washing machine, wireless Internet connection and phones in the Metta Earth House. The value of this is $90/night.
Meals are vegetarian and are lovingly prepared with seasonal, local and organic foods. Much of the food comes from our ¾ acre organic garden and farmstead, while the rest is sourced from local organic farmers in our bioregion. We are happy to co-create menus, if desired, and are able to accommodate for many special dietary needs. Three meals for two are included in this offer at a value of $50/person/day (Breakfast ~ $10, Lunch ~ $15, Dinner ~ $20, Tea & Snacks ~ $5).
Metta Earth Institute is a Center for Contemplative Ecology and is located in the heart of the Green Mountains in Lincoln on 158 acres of stunningly beautiful land including meadows, forest, gardens, and streams. The Metta Earth Farm includes our heritage breed, organically raised, and grass fed Milking Shorthorn small herd of cows, greenhouse, and chickens. Walking, nearby swimming in a pristine river with waterfalls and deep pools, hiking in the mountains, and biking are all possible recreational activities during your stay.
