Item Description

Escape to Istria - a miniature heart-shaped Mediterranean island in Croatia with perfectly arranged seasons -- lush green springs, colorful autumns, long and pleasant summers and mild winters.

The winner of this package will enjoy four nights for two guests at the newly designed hotel LONE in ROVINJ with breakfast and dinner included each night at the best restaurants in Istria. A rental car is also included for four days.

The largest Croatian peninsula is abundant in green oases and romantic blue bays, but it also has numerous unexplored corners. Along the Adriatic Sea one can find pebble, rocky and paved beaches, while the shade of the pines is often available right on the shore. The Istrian interior fascinates with its river, affluent falls, rich forests full of fruits, hills and mountains. The animal world is also vivid, both beneath the sea and ashore. Situated in the immediate vicinity of the Western European civilization on the one side and on the edge of quite a different cultural milieu on the other, Istria has a rich history, created on the crossroads of three great European cultures -- Slavic, Roman and German.

One can find everything here -- the Mediterranean lifestyle and a love for tradition with modern spirit. Istria is a picturesque stage for memorable experiences of its visitors, to be re-discovered over and over again... Istrian cuisine - The wealth of Istrian cuisine is not at all negligable. Istria's turbulent past has certainly left a trace on its cuisine. Various traditions are interwoven in the local cuisine, which is based on nature - aromatic spices, wild growing plants, vegetables, seafood - but there is also the influence of Franconian and German feudal rule, Roman dishes, and the cuisine that from the 7th century appeared with the settling of the Slavs. However, all dishes that were brought to these areas bear a characteristic stamp.
