Item Description

Warmth for Winter
These combination packs of wool and pattern are always one of the most popular items in our annual auction! The Solitude Wool stand is always a sight for sore eyes at market. Even non-knitters buy the gorgeous, vibrant skeins of wool because the colors are so spectacular and it all begins on the farm! Solitude creates breed specific, artisan yarns made from wool from our own and other small farms in the Chesapeake Bay region.  "Romney" yarn comes from animals raised on Weather Lea, Solitude and Loudoun Lamb farms in Virginia and Rockbridge Farm in Pennsylvania

Offered here? A skein of their green, lustrous "Romney" yarn  (this is semi-worsted spun, a more traditional spinning method for longwool, dyes beautifully, is silky in feel and almost glows. A 2-ply aran weight that will give great stitch definition and drape to your knitting).  with a "Button up neck wrap" pattern designed by Sue Burke (a Dupont Circle FreshFarm Market customer).  You will love making and perhaps giving this item!  Please see item 116 for wool statistics.

Item Special Note

Warmth for Winter
Winner can exchange the yarn for a different color at the market if they would like. Pick up your item at the Dupont Circle Market on Sunday mornings.
