Item Description
Signed by members of the Philadelphia Orchestra
An orchestra is capable of producing a huge range of sounds, from shake-your-bones loud to intimately quiet, from goose-bump, exhilarating joy to deep, sorrowful seriousness, from lush harmonies to jarring surprises. This rainbow of sounds translated for me into a rainbow of colors. And the Philadelphia Orchestra, in particular, is known for the golden sound of the strings, hence the inclusion of gold at the center of the rainbow of colors. Also, the colors have been painted with a loose, impressionistic style because the orchestra member signatures would need to stand out, hence the avoidance of rendering specific objects on the surface of the violin. The violin "vibrates" with color, just as the orchestra vibrates with sound!
