Item Description
This is something special. An incredibly gorgeous hand woven silk garment that has a beautiful history. You can know the loom that birthed your fabric. You can meet the designer that brought it to the life it will now share with you. How incredible to wear something that actually has roots, a kind of wearable ancestry!
Tantuvi is Sanskrit for weaver. As its name suggests, the fabrics for the collection are handloom silks woven in India and garments made in NY. Each collection is produced in small runs to accommodate the time involved in weaving the materials. They are able to trace the production process from the finished garment, hand made in Brooklyn, to the weaver’s loom, supporting a nearly lost ancient art form.
