Item Description
The BCS Transitional Living Community (TLC) is a temporary shelter for homeless, mentally ill women, who are reclaiming their lives and are striving towards independent housing in the community. Most of the woman arrive to the shelter with no more than the clothes upon their back. Brooklyn Community Services strives to provide basic household goods for women moving out of TLC into independent housing. Each Helping Home Package includes a set of towels, basic cookware, dishes, utensils, glasses, a coffee maker, sheets and pillows. The packages have helped give our TLC graduates a fresh start in their new lives, offering them a sense of pride and hope for a productive life in their new home.
-Your $250 donation, would provide a TLC graduate with these supplies that are essential to each household and will provide the women of TLC with a good start to making their independent apartment a secure and comfortable home.
