Item Description
This photograph was taken in London in 1972. Charles Gatewood was photographing Burroughs and Gysin for Rolling Stone Magazine. For one glorious week writer Bob Palmer and Gatewood hung out with Burroughs and Gysin, and after the interviews and photographs were done Burroughs offered to write text for Gatewood's first book, SIDETRIPPING (published in 1975; re-issued by San Francisco's Last Gasp in the fall of 2001).

Original photograph donated to us by Charles Gatewood. It measures 7 1/2 by 11 3/4 and is signed by Gatewood on the reverse.
