Western Pennsylvania is home to the country's oldest continuously operating Pictorialist group, The Photographic Section of The Academy of Science and Art of Pittsburgh, which traces its roots to 1885. Selden Davis was a member of this group, which also included Charles K. Archer, IOscar C. Reiter, Orlando E. Romig, and Hew Charles Torrance.
