Item Description

Jonathan Lewis (British, b. 1970)
Fendi, 2009, from  Designer Labels
Archival pigment print mounted on sintra
Framed: 40 x 53 inches

In his Designer Labels series, Jonathan Lewis manipulates nocturnal photographs of London’s most prestigious fashion houses. The window displays of Fendi, Gucci, Prada and Dolce & Gabbana are  transformed into a sparkling array of pixels. Operating at the border between   legibility and irresolution, Lewis marries 21st century technologies with the timeless ritual of status-driven consumerism.

Fendi is published in Designer Labels, a limited edition artist book published in 2010.
