Do you have a special occasion you’d like to make even more special? Have you always
wished for a personal home concert or a cellist to play as your guests enjoy a cocktail
party?
Marika offers a wide range of performance possibilities. She can perform a house concert
of original music, she can play the Bach Suites as party guests enjoy themselves or she
can offer you a private concert for just you and yours. Marika will work with you to cater
the music to your needs.
Classically trained cellist Marika Hughes, a member of the bands 2 Foot Yard, Charming
Hostess and leader of her band Bottom Heavy, will perform at your home or special
event for 2 hours. She has performed with Whitney Houston, Mary J. Blige, and Sean
Lennon and has recorded for many artists in New York, including Lou Reed, Ani
DiFranco, Iron and Wine, Dar Williams, Eric McPherson and Jolie Holland. In 2011, she
released “Afterlife Music Radio” (DD Records), a CD of solo cello compositions written
by her musician friends across the span of improvised, classical and experimental music.
