Item Description

These three, double-sided pages were chosen specifically for their connection to Hawaii.  Fascinating reading and definitely worth framing if just for the pictures.

January 31, 1891-"The Late King Kalakaua of Hawaii, Princess Lilinokalana" (sic)

March 1, 1873-"The Newly Crowned King of the Sandwich Islands"

June 8, 1867-"Bishop's Church Honolulu & King Kamehameha V. Laying the Corner stone of the Bishop's Church at Honolulu"(hand colored)

Harper's Weekly (A Journal of Civilization) was an American political magazine based in New York City. Published by Harper & Brothers from 1857 until 1916, it featured foreign and domestic news, fiction, essays on many subjects, and humor. During its most influential period it was the forum of the political cartoonist Thomas Nast.
