Item Description
Elaine Matt Schaffner was raised on a farm in northeast Iowa and spent much of her youth engaging in art production. She went on to study fine art at Upper Iowa University, Fayette, and then commercial art and advertising at the American Academy of Art in Chicago, Illinois. After spending nearly twenty years employed as a commercial artist and studio production artist she returned to college at the University of Kansas, Lawrence, to train to be an art educator. As of the fall of 2005, Elaine has been employed as a K-5 visual art educator in Massachusetts. She continues to create oil and watercolor landscapes, still lifes and portraits in her backyard home studio in Milton and plein aire. To see more of her work, go to www.elaineschaffner.com.
