Item Description
"The Old Chelsea Festival Cook Book, compiled by ladies of the Universalist Church, 1909." There's no explanation of what the Chelsea Festival was, but presumably this is from Chelsea, Mass. Recipes include Scotch Woodcock for the Chafing Dish, and Clam bouillon topped with whipped cream for the soup course. A fascinating look into the cooking habits of Universalists long before they became Unitarian Universalists. Many recipes have the names of church members, such as Miss Mary L. Slocum, Eloise H. Moon, and Anna Sibley. Enjoy a piece of history with your Divinity.
