Item Description
Imagine spending five days, January 29 to February 3, 2013, acquiring new tools for living with greater ease, joy, depth, resilience and balance. Treat yourself, a friend, or family member to Mindfulness Tools for Living the Full Catastrophe at the Center for Mindfulness in Norwood, Massachusetts. During your five days you will practice mindfulness skills with other people like you, in a highly participatory structured learning environment. Program presenters will be Lynn Koerbel and Bob Stahl.
Bob Stahl, PhD is a senior teacher with the Center for Mindfulness at the University of Massachusetts Medical School. He founded and directs mindfulness-based stress reduction programs in three medical centers in the San Francisco Bay area, and is co-author of A Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction Workbook and Living With Your Heart Wide Open.
Lynn Koerbel, MPH, a senior teacher on staff at the Center for Mindfulness at UMass Medical School has been teaching mindfulness-based stress reduction classes for seven years. She co-founded Present Moment Mindfulness in Western Massachusetts, a community-based organization offering MBSR classes as well as mindfulness-based applications in the fields of education, business, and health organizations.
Both Bob and Lynn are gifted, caring instructors, who create a safe and nourishing atmosphere for learning and community.
This program is an offshoot of the eight-week Stress Reduction Program, founded by Jon Kabat-Zinn in 1979 at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center. Highly respected within the medical community, the program supports health enhancement and wellness focused on prevention and learning the "how" of taking good care of yourself as well as feeling a greater sense of balance.
