Item Description
Up for bid is this beautiful 9 1/2" x 12" vanity tray. The vintage wood tray by Creative Circle frames the spectacular needlework. The needlework is Hardanger embroidery, (pronounced Har-dun-ger) and originates from the Hardanger fjord region of southwestern Norway. This stunningly intricate drawn thread work is rarely practiced anymore, and to own such a nice example is a real treat! This particular piece is stitched on a pale pink linen with a variegated pink tone thread. What a nice way to "think pink" and remember that alone a thread is weak, but woven together becomes strong and beautiful. When we stand together to fight breast cancer, we remember that we are strong beautiful women! Whether you keep the practical but beautiful tray for your own, or give it as a thoughtful gift, this beautiful tray is a great reminder to think pink.
