Item Description
The purse was not a conspicuous fashion article until the mid 1800s. At that time, offices and factory jobs gave reason for women to be out of the house. For the first time, a paycheck was present in a handbag, which formerly carried only grooming necessities. Retail stores began to stock many lines of products and shopping trips became an entertaining pastime for everyone. Ladies began to carry purses for this occasion.
This little purse is hand wireworked to resemble embroidery. The fringe, jeweled flowers, and beads of the neckchain are all crystal.
Includes lovely gift box and explanation of history and origin of purse.
