Item Description
How did Jews use the opportunities of freedom to make diverse contributions to American life, while also recording the experiences of other ethnic groups? That's just part of what the exhibitions at this museum will address when the newly-expanded space opens in fall 2010 in Philly's Historic District, neighboring the National Constitution Center and Independence Hall and the Liberty Bell Center. Designed by James Stewart Polshek, this new 100,000 square-foot facility, with its glowing, translucent facade, will feature five floors of interactive exhibition space as well as one of the nation's largest collection of Jewish Americana.
