Item Description
The Chinese New Year will soon be upon us! Celebrate in style with this collection of unique Asian curiosities!
2013 is the year of the snake which symbolizes intelligence, gracefulness, and materialism. This is your chance to treat yourself with a taste of the orient!
Experience China with these two unique items. Included are a beautiful cloissone dragon plate (with easel) and a set of 4 snuff bottles with reverse painting.
Snuff bottles were used by the Chinese during the Qing Dynasty to contain powdered tobacco. Smoking tobacco was illegal during the Dynasty, but the use of snuff was allowed because the Chinese considered snuff to be a remedy for common illnesses such as colds, headaches and stomach disorders. This particular collection of bottles is called "Mountains and Waters of Four Seasons."
Item Special Note
Plate is approximately 8" in diameter without the easel.
