Thomas Rivers Brown is one of the most exciting talents in winemaking today. As winemaker for a brilliant portfolio of classically styled wines, Thomas is a passionate about his craft with an absolute dedication to making "no holds barred" wines at the highest level.
In October 2008, Thomas made history as the youngest winemaker to score not just one, but two perfect "100 point" ratings from wine reviewer Robert M. Parker, in The Wine Advocate. Then, in October 2010, Thomas struck double platinum when The Wine Spectator awarded two top "100 point" ratings to two of his Cabernet Sauvignons, making Thomas the first American winemaker to ever receive 100 points from Wine Spectator. Since then, Thomas has gone on to garner three consecutive vintages of 100 point ratings from The Wine Advocate, and even more for wines in retrospective tastings.
Here are six Cabernet Sauvignon selections from the winemaker from the 2010 vintage, ranging from Healdsburg to Conn Valley, from Calistoga to Rutherford. In his words he “…Tried to focus this selection of wines on warmer climates since 2010 was a cool year. They show the best attributes of the vintage -- nice aromatics, good fruit/minerality mix, slightly higher acidities, and are great cellar candidates -- without any of the under-ripe notes that some cooler sites show.”
We know you’ll enjoy them! And we raise our glasses to Thomas for scoring these unprecedented achievements in record time.
