Item Description
One of the best kept fly-fishing secrets of northern California is the quality rainbow trout fishing to be had in the four-and-a-half mile of stretch of stream that runs through the Big Chico Creek Ecological Reserve. The reserve is managed in part for the threatened spring run salmon that spend the summer in the deep shady pools. The pristine nature of this section of creek provides a fishing experience not found in more accessible waterways.
Your guide for the trip will be Reserve Director, Jeff Mott. Fishing season in this creek is open November 1 through April 30. When offered these trips have sold at fundraising auctions for $300 - $500.
