Item Description
Tour given by the SCBI veterinary staff for 4-6 people to visit the Veterinary Hospital to see first-hand the unique challenges our veterinary staff face when caring for animals ranging from birds to buffalo. The tour will include a behind-the-scenes view of our zoo medicine facilities while spurring discussion with our veterinary staff on our global special species health initiatives. The Smithsonian Conservation Biology Institute (SCBI) is a 3,200-acre site in the Shenandoah Valley, where scientists and staff are engaged in multi-disciplinary research to recover endangered species, save habitat, and restore species to the wild. Tours will be arranged for mutually convenient dates and times (weekdays or weekend, 3-4 hour tour).
