Item Description
This 9" x 11" painting of a boy, a rainy day and a very large lion, is one of McCully's illustrations from her book with Marion Dane Bauer, In Like a Lion, Out Like a Lamb. Kirkus said of it, "While the text provides the skeleton, McCully's pen, ink and watercolor illustrations truly bring the old song to life." The illustrator of more than 40 books for young readers, McCully won the Caldecott Medal for Mirette on the High Wire, and we love how many of her books feature curious, clever girls. But we love the brave little boy in this painting, too.
