Item Description
You get five oversized notecards (in the unusual size of 4.5" by 8.5") on heavy, creamy stock, depicting a mixed-media work created by P.S. 363 students in collaboration with art teacher Valerie Hammond. The card shows a wild, thorny profusion of heavily-inked flowers, leaves, acorns and screen-printed butterflies. The giant original work is displayed at our school. Your five cards come in five different envelopes (red, orange, yellow, green and blue) festively tied with ribbon.
Hammond is a working artist who teaches at TNS through Studio in a School; her frequent collaborator Kiki Smith says, "Valerie's work exists in a glimmer, in the periphery, slightly away or out of vision, in a kind of magical realm in the musty undergrowth at the edge of our gardens." That's a lovely description of the image on this card, too.
