Concentric Circles of Influence: The Birth of Artist's Communities in Central New Jersey is a series of art exhibits, film, gallery talks and panel discussions that focus on art communities that developed in central New Jersey beginning in the late 1930s. The project celebrates the crucial role New Jersey has played as an important cultural center since the mid-20th century.
Ilene Dube and Kate Somers, the project's curators, will be leading a group of 8 on a stimulating and thought-provoking day of experiencing and learning about our local art scene, past and present.
-
Begin at 11am with a tour of the exhibition at the Princeton Historical Society. This exhibition puts the entire Concentric Circles project in context.
-
After the exhibition, gather for lunch at noted artist and art educator's Judith K. Brodsky's home.
-
Lunch will be followed by 2 studio visits--see where and how the artists work and talk about what informs their art.
- The activities will end around 3pm.
