Baby Moccasins, made by Deborah Bazin Dostie
Northeast Woodland Pucker Toe moccasins. The hide is local brain tanned smoked deer and the fur is (repurposed) mink, beading is done in size 13/0 true cut beads. Deborah teaches bead classes at MKIM, and her beadwork has been exhibited in MKIM's Contemporary Art Gallery.
From Deborah's artist statement: "Always passionate about beading, Deborah loves to share this passion and share whatever knowledge she can about beadwork. Residing in New Hampshire's beautiful Lakes Region with her family, Deborah volunteers and teaches at the surrounding summer camps teaching beadwork to children of various ages. Beads weave through Native history from tens of thousands of years ago through present-day creations, to the boundless dreams of tomorrow."
