Item Description
Enjoy a mid-week 2-night stay for two at Tassajara Zen Mountain Center.
Tassajara is nestled in a mountain valley, inland from the Big Sur coast in a remote part of the Ventana Wilderness. Long known as a place of healing, the hot springs of Tassajara were first used by the native Esselen people.
In 1967, Tassajara was established as the first Zen training monastery outside of Japan, and offers monastic training periods during the fall and winter months. Each year from May to September, Tassajara, or Zenshinji (Zen Heart-Mind Temple), as it is known formally, opens its gates to students and guests alike for the summer guest.
Guest accommodations at Tassajara are simple, elegant, and comfortably rustic. Savor our delicious vegetarian meals, beatiful creekside hot springs bathhouse, swimming pool, daily meditation, dharma talks, and more.
Step away from the busyness and pressures of your life, and find the rhythm of your own breath. Feel the summer breeze, enjoy delicious food, and immerse yourself in the healing waters of the hot springs and the refreshing cool of Tassajara Creek.
Item Special Note
Offer is good for two persons for any two weekday nights (Sunday-Thursday), during the 2014 Tassajara Summer Guest Season (May 1-September 14, 2014). This offer is only for accommodations and amenities. It does not include any additional or separate retreat fees, transportation fees (eg. the Stage), massage or merchandise purchases in the bookstore.
