Item Description
Ward's art is accessible, bold, full of a bright range of color. Long fascinated by color and form, and often exhibiting a complex, multi-layered analogy for life and psyche, Ward's work celebrates the living mystery we find everywhere in nature and ourselves. Her paintings grace homes in private collections throughout the United States. She has shown work extensively in New England, as well as Los Angeles, New York, Chicago, Las Vegas, Houston, and Tucson.
36"x 36".
Exploring the relationship between synesthesia and essence as spiritus, Greta Wards work employs an amalgamation of bold color choices and familiar form. The resulting confluence of color, tone and energy becomes a unifying genesis for the viewers own story to begin.
New synergies are generated from both opaque and transparent layers as traditional understandings of meaning are redefined, and Jungian archetypes explored. In this way, temporal phenomena become differently defined and the viewer is left with a glimpse of this boundless and amorphous world.
