Item Special Note
Catherine Rucker is native to the Pacific Northwest. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Visual Communications Education from Western Washington University in Bellingham, Washington. She also attended arts classes at Cornish School of Arts in Seattle and The Evergreen State College.
During the past 40 years, she helped create and direct communication efforts for several state agencies...encouraging salmon conservation, for example, or safe and sober driving, or urging businesses to hire parents on welfare.
She has long accepted many private and public sector illustration and portrait commissions. Past work includes pastel portraits of families, and illustrations and cartoons that appear on regional signs, maps, magazines instruction manuals and brochures.
She routinely donates her art to fundraising events for local schools, service clubs and nonprofits.
