The Story Behind the Shot: Los Angeles at night becomes a different place. The old architecture and neon is a part of the past that still lives - after dark. The Ravenswood, in particular, is a legendary apartment building once owned (and lived in) by Mae West. Observed at night, it seems to smolder with an intense, almost otherworldly energy.
Artist Bio: Charles Christopher is a motion picture and television stills photographer. His personal work has been featured in exhibits up and down the West Coast. Ravenswood was recently part of a dual exhibit at Hale Arts Space in Santa Monica. In 2012, it was selected by designer Trip Haenisch for inclusion in The Hollywood Reporter's first ever design show house - Design Hollywood.
