The Story Behind the Shot: Winter is a particularly beautiful season in Quebec, Canada. In December 2012, Michon was photographing her father in the woods and as she finished the shoot, her attention turned to her immediate surroundings. The exquisite stillness of the scene was briefly transformed by a soft, swirling wind which lifted the snow from the branches, sending it into the path of the afternoon sun.
Artist bio: Andréanne Michon has received a BFA in photography from Concordia University and a MFA at the San Francisco At Institute. She's been involved in many international exhibitions curated by representatives from museums such as the Oakland, Guggenheim, and J. Paul Getty. She was recently touted for her work by Magenta Foundation to be among the Flash Forward Emerging Photographers.
