Item Description
Enjoy a week in a lovely 3-bedroom house in Woolwich, Maine, between Bath and Wiscasset. The house is on a tidal bay with a float for swimming and a kayak for boating. Suitable for 6 adults.
Two of the bedrooms have double beds; the third has one twin bed and one child’s bed. The living room couch is a queen-size sofa bed. In addition to the full bath there is an outdoor shower (enclosed) on the deck, and that is VERY special (wash your hair with view of Montsweag Bay)!
Wiscasset has lots of very good antiques shops, a good art gallery and other fun shops as well as Red’s Eats, which gets lots of publicity in travel publications about Maine for its lobster rolls. These, however, are reportedly inferior to the ones available at Five Islands Lobster Company, where you eat on the dock with an incredible ocean view. The latter is about a half-hour beautiful drive that takes you also to Reid State Park, which has a beach to rival East Hampton’s (plus a large marsh and woods with trails). Bath is a charming little town with a great coffee shop (Café Crème), bookstores, more down-market antique shops, a great restaurant (Solo Bistro), Maine Maritime Museum (many sailing tours) and other attractions. The other place worth mentioning here is the Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens, also a half hour trip. It has been voted the best botanical garden in America. And for those who like flea markets, there is a big one about 5 miles from the house that operates 4 days a week.
You will not want to leave at the end of your week!
Item Special Note
