ONE FISH, TWO FISH, KEEP THE TANK FRESH-ISH!
- Item Number
- 130
- Opening Bid
- 250 USD
Item Description
The library’s 300-gallon saltwater fish tank is a source of constant delight to people of all ages but particularly for our youngest visitors to the 3rd floor.
How many of you have heard the screams of delight when someone spots Nemo or Dorrie? Or seen children with the guide to fish in the tank eagerly searching for the real-life swimmer?
The installation of a new tank this summer, thanks to a generous donation from the Friends of the Library, has debuted to rave reviews.
But maintaining the eco balance of a tank this size requires more than just adding a dose of Morton’s salt to the tank.
The fish tank team from All Aquatics is on site weekly to clean the tank, talk to the fish, inspect the coral and add new livestock.
The annual cost of maintaining the tank is roughly $10,000, much of which comes from donations.
Let’s help the library make sure that this tank provides this generation and many more to come with hours of delight and exploration.
Won’t you help with the upkeep by adopting a fish for a year?
