San Diego horse racing takes place where the "turf meets the surf" at Del Mar, one of the most popular Thoroughbred horse racing tracks in the world. Fans flock to the track each summer to wager on their favorite horses during the annual Del Mar Thoroughbred Club racing season. Be part of the magic and nostalgia of this long-time horse race tradition dating back to 1937 when Del Mar track founder Bing Crosby greeted the first guests, and in 1938, the great legendary horse, Seabiscuit, won by a nose in an epic race against Ligaroti.

The Del Mar Race Track is “just a chip shot from the Pacific Ocean”, located on the Del Mar Fairgrounds, 20 miles north of San Diego and 100 miles south of Los Angeles.  

Del Mar Thoroughbred Club

Rub elbows with owners and horsemen in Del Mar’s legendary paddock, enjoy a Private Behind-the-Scenes barn and stable tour, watch a race from the Winners’ Circle and get a photo with the Jockey! You will also have reserved seats in the premium “members only” Turf Club (food and beverage costs not included). This package includes up to two additional guests (four people total) in the Winners’ Circle and Turf Club. Enjoy complimentary valet parking for one vehicle.

Race Named in Your Honor & Trophy/Flower Presentation

Step into the trackside Winner's Circle at Del Mar! A race will be named in your honor and your personalized race name will be listed in the program. You will be escorted into the paddock for the saddling prior to your race. After viewing the selected race from trackside, you will step into the trackside Winner's Circle and present a trophy or flowers to the winning owner, jockey or trainer.  You will receive a color photograph taken in the Winner's Circle.

Valid for the 2015 Summer Meet (mid-July through early September) and 2015 Fall Meet (November), subject to availability. Blackout dates: Opening Days and Pacific Classic. Dates subject to change. Horseracing daily except Monday and Tuesday.
