Item Description
Mishandled and beaten with an ankush (bullhook) all her life, Lakhi is a blind elephant who suffers from many injuries all over her body. Never allowed to rest or given appropriate elephant food, walking endlessly on tar roads in hot temperatures led to abscesses on her feet and chronic injuries on all four foot pads. The day she arrived at the Elephant Conservation and Care Center, our veterinarians did not waste a moment in treating her wounds and making her feel comfortable in her new home.
Lakhi needed to know human hands can be kind and caring too!
This painting is unique, special and original and was created with tremendous patience, subject entirely to Lakhi's decision to participate in the process, largely influenced by bananas, dates and other treats!
No cruelty or negative conditioning was used in the creation of this painting.
Size: 24X 24 inches
