Item Description

This amazing monochromatic photograph depicts a gentle pasture with a single horse grazing. In the background is a barn shrouded in the early morning mist, evoking the memory of Wyeth-esque settings. Dated and signed and donated by Ron Rosenstock, a sought after photographer.

This is a large piece which will make a strong impact in any setting.

Due to the size and fragile nature of this piece, we request local pickup only.

Item Special Note

"It was an extremely foggy morning in late fall at the Olsen Farm in Cushing Maine, where Andrew Wyatt made his most famous painting of Christina’s World.  I set up my 4 x 5 view camera on the tripod and as I was focusing and composing under the dark cloth, I remember saying to myself that this image really needed something strong in the foreground!  As I’m still  composing the image under the dark cloth, this back horse came into my image on the ground glass!  I quickly put a film holder into the camera and had the chance to make one exposure.  I made the exposure and the horse then wandered off, as if he knew he was there for a purpose.  After I developed the negative and made the contact print I was amazed to see the horse so perfectly placed!"
