Nestled in the woods at the end of a country road and surrounded by spectacular gardens in the summer, this cozy, quiet cottage in Putney, Vermont is ideal for a romantic getaway for two or a peaceful retreat for one.
Abundant recreational opportunities nearby include walking in the woods, hiking, biking, kayaking, swimming in the West River (the owners will direct you to their favorite swimming holes), seasonal berry and apple picking, downhill and nordic skiing, snowshoeing, and more. Southern Vermont is a hotbed of cultural activity, with live theater and dance, classical, jazz, and folk music regularly on offer. Galleries, artist studios, and shops featuring local crafts can be found in every nook and cranny. The area is on the leading edge of the farm-to-table movement, with great farmer's markets, farm stands, and restaurants throughout the region.
No pets and no smoking, but the owners will gladly make available a charger for your electric car.
