Use this certificate for $100 of one week of JCC Machon Camp!
Machon is a summer camp program for teens who wish to become young Jewish leaders. The teens that emerge from Machon take initiative, set goals, and direct actions; they know how to follow a course that takes them where they want to go in life. Machon is comprised of four, two-week sessions. Each session focuses on a specific topic intended to educate, broaden the teens’ attitudes, opinions, and understanding of many of the world’s most pressing issues--all through a Jewish lens. This summer, the topics to be discussed include: Hunger and Homelessness and Sustainability and the Environment. Machon teens also volunteer 3½ days a week, assisting bunks as they learn to be counselors in our J Day camp. They also have the opportunity to participate in camp activities, including swimming in our refreshing outdoor pools.
In addition to volunteering, Machons (as we call ourselves) love to take trips! Each two week session includes 2 trips
- One community service trip
- One trip the teens plan. Trips may include visits to Hershey Park, Sky Zone, Downtown DC or Baltimore — to the Smithsonian, the Maryland Science Center,or the American Visionary Art Museum.
