2 Preview Tickets to COME FROM AWAY

COME FROM AWAY is the breathtaking new musical that played record-breaking engagements in La Jolla, Seattle, and Washington D.C. Written by Canadians Irene Sankoff and David Hein, this is the stunning production from Tony-nominated director Christopher Ashley (Memphis) that the Los Angeles Times calls “an affecting and stirring new musical.”

In a heartbeat, 38 planes with 6,579 passengers were stranded in a remote town in Newfoundland. The locals opened their hearts and homes, hosting this international community of strangers–spurring unexpected camaraderie in extraordinary circumstances.

On September 11, 2001 the world stopped. On September 12, their stories moved us all.

This includes two tickets to a preview performance of your choice to COME FROM AWAY.

Lunch with Iconic Producer at Iconic Restaurant

Following a 35-year international career as a lighting designer, Richard Winkler has been producing since 2009. Tony Awards: The Norman Conquests (2009), La Cage (2010), Memphis (2010), Vanya & Sonia (2013). Other Broadway includes: Something Rotten!, Act of God, Disgraced (2013 Pulitzer Prize), King Charles III (2016 Tony nom.) Off Broadway: Turn Me Loose and Verso. West End:  Long Day’s Journey Into Night (Olivier Award), Betrayal, and the up-coming revival of Dreamgirls.  Up-coming Broadway: Come From Away. Richard also has several plays and musicals in development including Chasing Rainbows at Goodspeed.  A full list of Richard's credits can be found at his IBDB page or his website.

Lunch with Richard will be held at Joe Allen, the iconic Theater District restaurant hailed as the restaurant that "remains New York’s premier theater district spot" by The New York Times.

In May, 1965, Joe Allen opened the restaurant that bears his name.  That same year, the cast of the ill-fated show "Kelly" gave Joe a poster of their show. It ran one performance, and they thought it should hang, well, somewhere. Since then, it's become a Broadway tradition for those unlucky flops to adorn our walls.  "Chorus kids with bad knees" were the first people that braved midtown's far west side way back when.  Opening a restaurant west of Eighth Avenue was a gamble, but the Broadway community embraced Joe Allen's restaurant with open arms.  If you're looking for dinner before the theater, after the theater, a quick drink, or a quiet business lunch, you simply can't make a better choice.

Irene Sankoff and David Hein are a Canadian husband-and-wife writing team. Their first show, My Mother’s Lesbian Jewish Wiccan Wedding (based on David’s mother’s true story) was the hit of the Toronto Fringe Festival, where it was picked up for a successful commercial run in Toronto by Mirvish Productions. It has now played and won awards across North America, with Sankoff and Hein performing in most productions. Come From Away was developed at the Canadian Music Theatre Project and Goodspeed Musicals’ Festival of New Artists, showcased at the NAMT Festival of New Works and enjoyed a record-setting, multiple award-winning, critically acclaimed world premiere at the La Jolla Playhouse and Seattle Repertory - recently winning 'Outstanding New Musical' and 'Best Score' among other awards at the San Diego Critics Circle Craig Noel Awards and 'Excellence in Production of Musical' among other awards in Seattle's Gypsy Rose Lee awards. Their next musical, Mitzvah, was recently developed at the Finger Lakes Musical Theatre Festival, The Jewish Plays Project, the Rhinebeck Writers Retreat and most recently at TheatreWorks Silicon Valley. Sankoff and Hein are the recipients of a Bryden 'Ones-to-Watch' award, a Playwrights Guild of Canada award, and several ASCAP Plus awards.

Irene Sankoff and David Hein have provided this now priceless collectable item--a signed edition of the first page of sheet music from the first song from the musical!
