Add sweetness to your life with this honey gift basket! The basket contains 8 special honey varieties hand selected from the producers that supply Pure Sweet Honey (Verona, WI).
Honey from our local area is wonderful, but why not enjoy the remarkable variety of honey that is produced in other parts of the world too? Much like wine, honey flavor and color are influenced by the plant, soil, and climate conditions. The terroir, if you will. You will discover an amazing diversity in these honey varietals.
Wisconsin Clover Honey: From central Wisconsin. The 2015 season was a better year for Wisconsin beekeepers, and the July weather was very favorable. Most bees made all their crop at that time.
Canadian Clover Honey: Pure as the driven snow, this water white honey from the Canadian prairie is outstanding in its crystallized state. A favorite of many, eh? (Raw)
Sweet Clover Honey: From far western South Dakota, it is made from sweet clover with its characteristic cinnamon flavor. This is from the 2014 crop which was a great production year west of the Missouri River. (Raw)
Orange Blossom Honey: It is just what it says. Produced in Florida, this is about as good as it gets. From the 2016 crop, it has a huge flavor that recalls the heavy aroma of the citrus trees in full bloom.
Blueberry Honey: From the blueberry farms of Maine. Blueberries need pollination (thank you bees!) and some years the bees will make surplus honey while pollinating the blossoms.
Item Special Note
Some of the honey is raw, some strained with low heat. Some will crystallize as times goes by and others will be much slower to solidify. (It is not recommended to feed honey to infants under the age of one year.)
Winning bidder may notify River Alliance by the end of the day on Tuesday, December 6th that they would like to pick this item up from the River Alliance office. Otherwise, it will be shipped USPS priority mail and winning bidder will be charged $10 for shipping at auction close.
