Artist Bio:
Jackie entered the world in Minneapolis “a long time ago,” and at 10 years old, she found herself in Waukegan, Illinois. She attended college in Colorado Springs, Colorado, never to return east again. Jackie married Bill McFarland in 1947 and raised four daughters, after which she enthusiastically returned to art.
“I attended Metro state for a few years and studied with talented local and regional artists. Experienced in most media, my preference is watercolor, graphite and collage. I am a charter member of Foothills Art Center and exhibited there for many years, fulfilling my passion for art and living to create. Although now retired, I taught art for several years locally and regionally, including workshops in Colorado, Wyoming, Utah and New Mexico. I have held memberships and served on boards in the Arvada Art Guild, Denver Allied Arts, and Colorado Watercolor Society, where I am a signature member. My themes have always been of the West, historical and mother nature---now, most importantly, Colorado felines.”
