Item Description
A collection of five white wines!
Ramey Chardonnay Sonoma 2009, Sonoma, California
Vinous 92:
Bright gold. Complex, intensely perfumed bouquet evokes fresh melon, tangerine, white flowers and gingerbread. Juicy and precise, offering lively citrus and spice flavors with a subtle touch of honey. Shows impressive clarity and energy on the finish, with the spice and floral notes repeating.
Patrick Piuze Chablis Terroir de Courgis 2012, Chablis, France
A View from the Cellar 91:
“As I have noted in the past, the Terroir de Courgis bottling hails from fifty-plus year-old vines in the village of PreÌÂhy and this is the most structured and probably the deepest of the five excellent villages bottlings from Domaine Piuze in 2012. The bouquet is a bit more reserved than the above, but deep and nascently complex in its meÌÂlange of apple, pear, lemon zest, lovely, flinty minerality and upper end smokiness. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and will be quite complex when it blossoms, with a fine core, excellent focus and balance, very good acidity and superb length and grip on the still fairly youthful finish.”-John Gilman
Jonathan Didier Pabiot Pouilly-Fumé 2013, Loire, France
A View from the Cellar 92+:
"The 2013 Pouilly-Fume from Jonathan Pabiot is a terrific example of the vintage, absolutely superb cut and grip for this difficult growing season. The wine is produced from thirty year-old vines, which are hand-harvested and the fruit fermented solely with indigenous yeasts. The bouquet on the 2013 delivers an outstanding aromatic constellation of tangerine, gooseberry, smoke, petrol, fresh-cut grass, lovely soil tones and a top note of white flowers. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied, complex and really rock solid at the core, with fine focus and grip and a long, zesty and very serious finish. Excellent juice. 2014-2019."-John Gilman
Huet Vouvray Clos Du Bourg Sec 2007, Vouvray, France
A View from the Cellar 94+:
"The bouquet is deep and beautiful, but must be coaxed out of the wine with about thirty minutes of decanting time at this early stage, eventually offering up a lovely mix of lime, orange zest, paraffin, bee pollen, grapefruit and a complex base of chalky soil tones. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and racy, which shows an initial phase where the dusty soil tones have the upper hand, but where the fruit comes up and synthesizes beautifully with the soil elements with a bit of decanting. The wine is very long and aggressively snappy for a 2007, with glorious structure for the vintage, a rock solid core and tremendous length and grip on the backward and stunning finish. All this great wine needs is time." John Gilman
Hartford Court Four Hearts Vineyard Chardonnay 2012, Russian River Valley, California, USA
Vinous 91:
Pale gold. Deeply pitched pit and orchard fruit scents are enlivened by smoky mineral and orange zest qualities and pick up a floral nuance with air. Sappy and slow to open, offering densely packed pear and nectarine flavors and a hint of ginger. Finishes long and pure, with resonating minerality and lingering honeysuckle and citrus pith notes.
