Item Description
Join Llisa Demetrios, the granddaughter of Ray and Charles Eames, for an exclusive private tour for 4 of the Eames' archive collection at The Ranch in Petaluma, plus lunch and wine. You and three friends will join Demetrios - an artist herself - who has gotten to know the Eames objects in this archive intimately. The lucky winning bidder will marvel at the Eameses' flat files and drawers full of handmade papers from Europe and Japan; original swaths of fabrics designed by Alexander Girard for Eames chairs; groupings of folk toys and furniture from India, where the Eameses spent a fair amount of time; and much more. In addition to viewing the collection, you'll get to enjoy a delicious lunch and wine pairings with Llisa at the site.
Charles and Ray Eames made significant historical contributions to the development of modern architecture and furniture through the work of The Eames Office. Among their most well-known designs is the Eames Lounge Chair.
Yale-educated Llisa Demetrios began her archiving career at the Mies van der Rohe Archive at MoMA in New York. She is Registrar of The Eames Collection as well as a board member of the Eames Foundation. Llisa, who was raised in the Bay Area, has recently prepared exhibits in London, Lisbon, Sacramento, Pasadena and Singapore.
