Item Description

Win this certificate for a two-day class with Tucker Knives,* designed to teach you the skills of old world blade-smithing and the art of coal forging. You'll take home a knife that you create with your own hands.

The hands-on instruction will cover the complex process of how knives are created. Ken Tucker will take you step by step through the process starting with building a coal fire and controlling the temperature, to hammering a blade from a billet of steel into the correct shape. You will experience the science of heat treating and tempering to establish a life time of strength. You will then work on guard and handle assembly, shaping and polishing and the correct process for sharpening your knife. To complete the process you will make a custom leather sheath to fit your one of a kind knife.

Ken Tucker is owner and creator of Tucker Knives and has been a master blade-smith for over 15 years. Each knife is a one of a kind original; individually numbered, and has a lifetime guarantee. Every knife is beautiful enough to be a collectors treasure, while maintaining its purpose of being a handy tool when you are hunting, fishing, capeing. These knives are versatile enough to do hard work on the ranch, or precise cutting in the kitchen.

This two-day course includes all of the materials and equipment necessary to create your own custom hand forged knife and sheath that you will take home with you at the end of yourr workshop. Each workshop is limited to two students to ensure a quality learning experience.

You will schedule your workshop with Ken or Sue Tucker.
